Parent Terms (after-school classes)

Searsol Limited (company no. 610079), Unit 7 Greenogue Business Plaza, Rathcoole, Co Dublin. Phone +353 1 630 3384.

These terms apply when you book your child into our after-school typing classes. Your rights under Irish consumer law are not affected by anything here.

1. Free trial and booking

1.1 Your child’s first class is a free 1-hour trial assessment. There is no charge and no obligation.

1.2 If you’d like to continue, we’ll send you a secure payment link. Your place is confirmed when the first payment is made and you’ve ticked to accept these terms.

1.3 Classes run at our centres: Whitehall, Lucan, Goatstown, Dundrum, Swords, Kells, Naas, Killester and Blanchardstown. Days and times are on each centre page. Places are limited.

2. Fees and payment

2.1 The fee is €80 per month for the first child and €72 per month for each brother or sister.

2.2 There are 3–5 classes a month, depending on the calendar. The fee is the same each month. Each centre’s season dates, including the season end and break weeks, are listed on that centre’s page on searsol.com.

2.3 Your first payment is taken when you enrol. After that, payment is taken automatically by Stripe on the 1st of each month.

2.4 We’ll give you at least 20 working days’ notice of any fee increase. If you don’t want to continue at the new fee, you can cancel under section 4 before it starts.

3. National Childcare Scheme (NCS)

3.1 Searsol is registered for National Childcare Scheme (NCS) payments. To use an NCS award, register with NCS and give us your CHICK number.

3.2 Once NCS approves the award, we reduce your monthly course fee by the subsidy amount each month until the funding runs out. Our fees list is on our website.

3.3 If we ever charge you more than the correct amount, we’ll refund the difference.

3.4 It’s your responsibility to keep your NCS award up to date. If an award ends or changes, your fee changes from the date it changes.

4. Cancelling (by you)

4.1 Cancel any time. Call +353 1 630 3384 or use our contact form. You don’t need to give a reason.

4.2 If you cancel at least 3 days before the 1st of the month, we won’t take the next payment. If your cancellation reaches us later and the payment has already been taken, we’ll refund it in full as long as no class has taken place that month. Otherwise your child can attend for the rest of that month.

4.3 14-day cooling-off. If you signed up online, you can cancel within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund, less a fair amount for any classes your child has already attended.

4.4 Missing a class (illness, holidays, other plans) does not reduce the monthly fee.

5. Changes and cancellations by us

5.1 If we cancel a class (for example, tutor illness or the venue being unavailable), we’ll email you as soon as we can. We’ll make up the lost time, usually by running classes 15 minutes longer for the next four weeks. If we can’t make up the time, we’ll credit or refund the cost of the missed class.

5.2 Planned breaks (midterm, Christmas, Easter, bank holidays) are shown on the centre page before you sign up and are already allowed for in the monthly fee.

5.3 If a centre closes for good, we’ll give you at least one month’s notice and refund any fees paid for classes after the closure date.

5.4 We may end your child’s place for serious or repeated breaches of the course rules, after first talking to you. We’ll refund any fees paid for classes after that date.

6. Safety, conduct and equipment

6.1 Drop-off and pick-up are at the classroom door, at the times shown. Please tell the tutor in writing about any medical needs, allergies or collection arrangements.

6.2 Course rules: arrive on time, respect the tutor and others, stay in the classroom except for toilet breaks, and take care of equipment.

6.3 We provide computers at most centres. Where a centre page on searsol.com says so, please bring a charged laptop. We are not responsible for loss of or damage to your child’s own device unless it’s caused by our negligence.

6.4 If your child deliberately or carelessly damages a centre’s property, we may ask you to cover the reasonable cost of repair. We’ll talk to you first and show you the cost.

6.5 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that can’t be limited by law.

7. Your data

7.1 We use your and your child’s details to run classes, process payments and administer NCS (which includes sharing data with Pobal and the Department). See our Privacy Policy on searsol.com for details and your rights.

8. Referral credit

8.1 If someone you refer enrols after their free trial, we’ll credit you one month’s fee, as long as they give your full name when they book and your child is a paying customer of our classes.

9. Complaints and law

9.1 Talk to your tutor first, or contact us on +353 1 630 3384 or through our contact form. We aim to reply within 5 working days.

9.2 These terms are governed by Irish law. You can bring a claim in the Irish courts, including the Small Claims procedure.

9.3 We may update these terms for the future. We’ll give you at least 20 working days’ notice of any change that affects you, and you can cancel without penalty before it starts.
